‘Colourful’ February Meeting

Red and yellow and pink and green…no, I’m not teaching my baby his rainbows, just thinking about which shades suit me after our speaker this evening.

Susan from ‘Colour me Beautiful’, took to the floor asking if any members suffered from ABD. A Bad Dress? Anti Blue Day? A Bonkers Design? Susan told us it was actually ‘Abundant Black Dressser’. Many of us find we hide behind a wardrobe of black, reasoning that it goes with anything, its glamorous, or even that we don’t actually want to be noticed at all.

Susan said always going for black is like going to a fancy ice cream parlour and just ordering a single scoop of low fat vanilla every week where’s the joy in that!? There are so many colours and shades to choose from, limiting yourself for the wrong reasons seems very sad.

Colour is energy and wearing the right colours next to your skin is flattering and will help you look more youthful. To demonstrate Susan brought Pat and Susan up to the front. First of all she showed them with colours which were draining and unflattering to their differing tones. She then replaced the scarves with different coloured ones which immediately made a difference to the ladies. It was surprising how much a change of colour could affect their overall look. We then saw how colour matching can work on your skin with make up choices.

When you have a full range of flattering colours to choose from, shopping will never be the
same again no more abundant black!
