DESCRIPTION:Why not join this LFWI trip to the award winning Munchester Castle? Reputably haunted\, the castle’s elegant rooms\, historic furnishings and superb works of art are a treat to explore. The famous gardens have plants from all over the world\, including rare and unusual specimens from the Sino-Himalayan region. There are at east 50 species of owls to see in the owl centre and for the brave; The Maze is an experience not to be missed! The entry price includes access to all of these and there is a free audio tour on individual headsets for the castle itself. The cafe provides everything from full meals to light snacks\, delicious cakes and local Cumbrian produce\, while a variety of gifts can be purchased from the information centre and gift shops. If you wish to take your own refreshments\, there are plenty of picnic tables around outside and in the stable courtyard; there is also room which can be made available in the event of bad weather. \nCoach pick-ups are planned for Leyland\, Barton Village Hall and Carnforth\, times to be confirmed nearer the day. We will leave Munchester at approximately 4pm. \nf you have any queries\, please request the organiser contact details from your WI secretary.
