SUMMARY:LFWI Countryside and Environment Sub-Committee: Rivington Walk
DESCRIPTION:(WI Members Only.) \nPlease bring a packed lunch. \nThe walk will commence at 10.30am and finish at approximately 2.30pm. Meeting place is Great House Barn Tea Room. The walk is 4.5 miles in length taking a circular route through an area of Rivington\, passing the reservoir and castle\, through woods towards the Pike. We have planned a lunch stop by a lake and refreshments will be available at the start and end of the walk as well as toilet facilities. \nThe terrain is mainly footpaths\, tracks or tarmac. There are some slopes but nothing too strenuous. There are also stiles and kissing gates. There are a few steep steps\, but an alternative route will be available. Please be advised that suitable walking boots will be required and no dogs are allowed. Please note that walking is a strenuous exercise and should only be undertaken by those who are fit to do so. \nDirections to Great House Barn Tea Room are available on request.
