Tis the season to be jolly…

A good time was had by the Salford Angels WI choir at the Singing For Joy national choir competition heats in Ilkley. The WI choirs were out in force and the competition was tough, but the ladies performed a stunning rendition of their chosen songs and did their WI proud. Although they didn’t qualify for the finals in Birmingham, the judges gave positive feedback and the ladies enjoyed their Yorkshire adventure. Now that the competition has been and gone, the next stop is Christmas!

After the preparations for the competition, the Santa hats have been dusted off just in time for the festive season, with the choir having a busy carolling schedule ahead, which will include fundraising or just entertaining the masses with some Christmas cheer. Firstly, they will be singing at the Garden Needs Wreath Making event on 30th November. Next, they will be singing and fundraising at Tesco on Salford Precinct on Sunday 7th December from 1 – 2pm, so please come down, have a sing along and support them (you will also have the opportunity to purchase one of our lovely Salford Angels WI 2015 calendars.) Finally, the ladies will entertain the Salford Angels WI at their annual Christmas meeting on 18th December.

There are also other opportunities for carolling coming up throughout December that are yet to be confirmed, so please watch this space.
