Joining Salford Angels WI
Salford Angels WI is a relatively new WI, starting in November 2011. We’re quite a young WI with lots of spirited, enthusiastic and lovely ladies in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80’s.
Alongside our monthly meeting programme we organise regularly trips and events. We also have a number of groups and clubs such as fundraising, gardening, craft, walking and choir. Together with these groups, we are looking to set up more in the future – we have something on offer for all tastes and ages!
We also like to get involved with the local community and take part in community events such as Armed Forces Day. We have also taken part in ‘Manchester Pride’ twice along with other local WI’s.
As you can see, although we have something for everyone from Ghost nights to picnics, we are always on the lookout for new faces and fresh ideas. New members are always welcome, so please come along to one of our monthly meetings to sample the cakes, see what we’re like and if you would like to join us. After a couple of free visits you can then decide if you would like to join our WI.
A yearly subscription is just £46.00 which is payable every January and then pro rata throughout the year, the subscription joins you to the National WI which carries a whole range of benefits including:
- membership of your local WI and access to county and national federation activities
- eight issues a year of the WI membership magazine WI Life
- access to a wide range of inexpensive online courses through Denman At Home; the WI college.
- having your voice heard: making a real impact on local, national and international issues
- the opportunity to learn, develop and pass on new skills
- belonging to something special: making friends, working as a team, having fun.
After that its only £2 per month for refreshments – we also have an optional monthly raffle and pay-as-you-go for any extra activities or events that you can to get involved with.
