If you’re interested in Salford Angels WI and thinking about coming to a meeting, but you’re thinking “Am I too young? Or too old?” — the answer is a resounding no. We welcome women of all ages and backgrounds.
Founded in 2011 as part of a new wave of urban WIs, Salford Angels is proud to be part of a long and vibrant tradition of women empowering women — a legacy that began in 1915 with the formation of the Women’s Institute in Great Britain.
Find Out MoreNew members are welcome to join the The Salford Angels WI Choir! We practice on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month at Del La Salle Sports and Social Club from 7.00 pm until 8.30 pm.
We meet every other month and work on projects big and small. Last year we made care bags for Salford Women’s Centre and decorated a Christmas tree for Frances House Festival of Trees.
We have a walk around the local area every couple of months and have visited places like Blackleach Country Park.
We have a variety of recipes you can browse and view online, from the Virtually Fat Free Tea Loaf to Betty Gilbert's Lemon Drizzle Cake you'll find something you enjoy.
Our garden Group has gone from strength to strength, in fact we’ve branched out all over the place. Currently the gardening group has been supporting the fantastic growing work at Buile Hill Park Mansion.
We’ve never been shy at applying for all manner of competitions and challenges, which have included fancy dress, baking, photography, gardening, cycling and much, much more…
