Thursday saw the biggest attendance for the Salford Angels WI with 50 women packed into the Angel Centre for coffee, cake and a Clarins makeover.

The formal part of the meeting was an opportunity to hear about the exciting opportunities available to get involved from the local food and drink festival, farmers market and the 2013 Salford Angels WI calendar.  This year, we are breaking with tradition of the stereotypical naked calendars made famous by the Calendar Girls film and going for our favourite thing – cake! The two lovely ladies from Clarins had a fabulous display of goodies to make us more beautiful!  There was an opportunity to test the make-up and skincare products and quite a few ladies had a makeover.  There were little gifts provided on each chair from Clarins and a brochure of all the great products. Whilst makeovers were happening, there was an opportunity to sign up to future events with the Salford Angels including a visit to Slattery’s for afternoon tea, a tour around BBC Media City and a chance to join our choir.

As with every meeting, there was the raffle to draw and one lucky lady pulled out her own ticket to win a Clarins goody bag worth £45.
