A Taste of Italy for the Angels

It has been a very festive week for the Salford Angels. It began on Sunday 15th December when the Salford Angels WI choir brought the sounds of Christmas to Tesco in Salford precinct with a carol singing performance. The session was a fund raising effort for the choir who are hoping to take part in the Wi’s centenary choir competition, “Singing for Joy” in 2015. £105.00 was raised in total. Thank you to all the kind shoppers who donated. Many stopped to hear the carols and have a sing along.

Next came the Angels annual Christmas meeting. This year was a special mystery evening, which turned out to be a taste of a traditional Italian Christmas. Our own resident Italian, Maria, cooked wonderful Italian dishes for the Angels to sample and some lovely sweet treats (the Tiramisu was a particular favourite.)

The night was rounded off with a fun Christmas quiz, that put the Angels knowledge of all things festive to the test.

So from everyone at the Salford Angels WI, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year We are looking forward to an exciting 2014.
