Christmas Celebrations
SalfordĀ Angels WI celebrated the Christmas season with a traditional Afternoon Tea at the Victoria and Albert Mariot hotel in Manchester. The tea started with Champagne and little finger sandwiches and finished with tea and a good selection of cakes (as any WI event should.) The scones and jam with clotted cream were particularly enjoyed and gave the tea a traditional feel.
Our December monthly meeting was also very busy as we all got the opportunity to take part in a Christmas Table Decoration workshop. With an interesting mix of baubles, Brussels sprouts, holly, candy canes, tinsel, nuts and other goodies all the ladies got very crafty making their own unique table decorations to take home. There was also plenty of mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas songs to help make it a special festive occasion.
Salford Angels WI will be holding our first Swap Party on Wednesday 23rd January at the Angel Centre. Bring unwanted items of clothing and Christmas gifts and swap for tickets. Tickets can then be exchanged for other items. Arrive at 7.00pm so that we can process the items that you have brought and enjoy tea and cake while we arrange everything. Swapping will begin at 7.30pm. Not got anything to swap? Don’t worry, items can be purchased.
