Family fun at Crocky Trail

Salford Angels is about women meeting up once a month and having a night of fun and catch up without having to be someone’s wife, mum or carer, or worrying about work, or what to cook for tea, in fact, for a few hours a month it’s a chance for you to be you.

But, with the school summer holidays underway, we also have lots of members who have children or grand-children to look after and entertain, whatever the weather. So with that in mind we had our first annual family day out at Crocky Trail in Warrington.

For readers who haven’t been, it’s a fabulous adventure playground set in part of a working farm. There’s, as you would expect, a crocky trail snaking around the whole playground, with wonky bridges to negotiate, rope swings over the stream and the most fantastic swings that go ridiculously high if you suss out how to work them, which several of our ladies did! After completing the trail there’s a great picnic area with comfy canvas benches and barbeque areas, so we took the opportunity and threw a blanket on the ground and the kids and adults tucked into the shared goodies we had all brought.

After refreshments and a bit of a rest it was off to the second part of the park, with its steep slides, giant seesaw, haunted house and the amazing Titanic ride, which we’re sure the adults loved more than the children and there were several shouts of ‘just one more time’ when we were getting ready to head home.

Suffice to say, we can’t wait for next years summer holidays!
