Question Number 3 is………

The May WI meeting was a social, in fact all of our meetings turn in to socials once the cakes are sliced up and the brews start flowing!  As well as the ‘fun’ quiz we had the important business of handing over a cheque for £1500 to representatives from the Young Carers raised during 2013 with a range of events and activities but focused around the gigantic cycle ride to the mother ship – Denman College.  As we gathered for the photo with the Young Carers we reminisced over the fantastic effort put in by many of our members not accustomed to straddling a saddle!  We’re very proud of their collective effort to cycle further then they could imagine and raise a load of money at the same time.

The Young Carers provide a fantastic Salford service for young adults who support family members; it provides a break from their caring duties with loads of fun activities and training to support them at home.

So back to the ‘fun’ quiz, it had everything you might expect – light entertainment, photo identification oh and of course a lateral thinking, science and history round.  Who knew that DNA stood for deoxyribonucleic acid (nobody on my team did!), the quiz turned into carnage as women were forced to think back over 40 years to lessons long forgotten, as you might imagine it resulted in some fabulously wrong answers (mainly from my team).  Sam Smith’s fabulous fun quizzes are available for weddings and birthday parties at just a small charge!

The Salford Angels WI meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month, our next meeting is our summer picnic with the added bonus of Zumba dancing and Samba drumming at Winton Park Pavilion in June!  It will be great fun so if you are interested in joining then please pop along or check out www.salfordangelswi.co,uk for more info!
