Read Along With The Angels

At Salford Angels WI we have a variety of Clubs and Groups that members can enjoy and it is certainly an exciting time, with many more clubs starting up this year.

This week we will be taking a look at our book club. The Salford Angels WI Book Club has been running since April 2012 and we have we have had an interesting selection so far (including the infamous 50 Shades of Grey.) All members are welcome to suggest our next book and no genre is off limits.

The Book Club meet at the Angel Centre on the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm. We have a nice cuppa and a biscuit and have a chat about the latest book that we have read. Everyone has their own view and as everyone’s tastes are different, it makes for a very interesting meeting.

For the list of books that we have read so far, with reviews and the scores that we have allocated them, please see our website.

There will also be some exciting developments at the book club over the next couple of months as we introduce themed meetings and literature related events and trips.

Our next book club meeting will take place on Wednesday 6th March, where we will be discussing this months book, The Sentry by Robert Crais.

It doesn’t matter if you have not read the book, please feel free to come along, have a chat and see what we are all about.

The WI is not just about clubs, we also enjoy a range of fun activities and events. On Friday February 22nd, the Angels will be holding a Bingo Night. It starts at 7.30pm at the Angel Centre in Salford. Join in this fun night out as we raise funds to help support the bike ride to Denham College!

Friends and family welcome. Tickets will be available to purchase. Contact Suzanne on 07581 471530 for more details.
