Lancashire Federation of Women’s Institutes – GREAT FOOD DEBATE

March 18, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

£5.00

Public Affairs Sub-Committee – WI Members Only

Do you feel strongly about the challenge of ensuring that people have a safe and sustainable supply of food?  Come and hear from our expert speakers – John Geldard FRAgS, Chairman of the National Sheep Association, Christine Knipe ARAgS, CEO of Westmorland Agricultural Society and Kathleen Calvert, farmer’s wife and WI member – and learn about the importance of the role of North of England farmers in meeting the challenge of feeding the nation, hear how best to educate the public on the subject and debate what we as WI members and consumers can do in our everyday lives to help tackle the problem and to support our local food producers.  We will also hear from a local organic farmer who will bring his delicious sausages for us to taste! Do come and contribute to an important and interesting debate.

For further information please contact Sandra Senior 01524 734567 or Helen Hooley 01772 681790.
