LFWI Annual Council Meeting 2014

The main speakers who will be at this year’s council meeting are detailed below:
ADAM HENSON
To millions of BBC 1 viewers, Adam Henson is the Countryfile presenter who regularly climbs hills and dells or tries his hand at various outdoor pursuits.
Drawing on a wealth of farming knowledge, Adam has presented weekly for Radio Gloucestershire and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s On Your Farm and Farming Today. He also writes for the monthly Countryfile magazinein his capacity as resident farmer. In 2010 and 2011 Adam co-presented BBC2’s Lambing Live alongside Kate Humble.
WING COMMANDER SONIA M PHYTHIAN ARRC MA MSc PMRAFNS
Wing Commander Sonia Phythian qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993 and worked in a variety of NHS Trust hospitals before commissioning into the Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service in 1996. From 2003 to 2007 she was employed in staff appointments at HQ Personal Training Command as Staff Officer Nursing and at HQ Air as SO2 PHC. These positions were separated by operational tours as the Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Officer in support of Operations in Iraq and Afghanistan; in 2007 she was awarded the Associate Royal Red Cross for her contribution to Aeromedical Evacuation in Afghanistan. In 2010 she was promoted to wing commander following which she assumed the position of Officer Commanding Nursing at MOD Hospital Unit (Peterborough) where she commanded 150 medical personnel comprising nurses and Allied health Professionals. During her 18 month tour at Peterborough she deployed November 11 to March 12 to Afghanistan where she established and commanded the first Deployed Aeromedical Squadron.
JANE DIXON – HEAD OF DENMAN
Jane started out as a teacher before having children and has since worked in both the private and public sectors in various learning environments. She has recently gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and is working towards a MBA. In her spare time she enjoys literature, theatre, cooking and running.
Entry tickets cost £12.oo per person.
Visitors and Delegates may like to order a lunch in advance – this will be a ‘grab-bag’ containing a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a piece of fruit and a chocolate biscuit. Lunches cost £7.25 each and a meat or veg option can be chosen. It is not permitted to eat your own food anywhere in the Southport Theatre / Floral Hall complex.
