LFWI – Port Sunlight Museum and Garden Village

June 23, 2015

£18.00

Port Sunlight Village is a unique and beautiful 19th century garden village created especially for the Sunlight Soap factory workers. We take a guided tour on our coach to see life through the eyes of the founder, William Hesketh Lever, his workers and their families. We also visit Port Sunlight Museum, which was extensively refurbished in 2013, featuring audio visiual presentations, interactive displays, historical objects and information panels. There will be time to take our own walks through the village and visit the well-stocked shop, offering in particular their own brand of soap – Sunlight Soap, Vinolia, Lifebuoy and Pears.

Pick up times will be confirmed nearer to the day, but it is planned to leave Carnforth at 8.30am, Barton Village Hall at 9.00am, Leyland at 9.30am and Haydock at 10.00am. We will leave Port Sunlight at approximately 4pm. We will be using Kirby Lonsdale and Don Fraser Coaches.
