Slaidburn Walk – LFWI

Tuesday 8th July 2014 from Slaidburn Village Hall, arrive 10.15am for 10.30am start.

Toilet facilities are available at Slaidburn Village Hall.  Refreshments available at the Village Green café or bring a packed lunch.  Cost £2.00.

The walk is approximately 5 miles long.  A Circular walk heading north from Slaidburn , passing Hammerton Hall and onwards to cross the dam of Stocks Reservoir.  Returning to Slaidburn by lanes, field paths and riverside path through Shay wood.  The terrain is steep in places with several stiles and gates.  Parts can be muddy so suitable walking boots are required.  Please note that dogs are not allowed on this walk.

Leave M6 at junc 31. Follow A59 signed Clitheroe

Leave A59 at A671 signed Clitheroe

Pass through Clitheroe until Roundabout Filling Station – turn left onto B6478 signed Waddington

Continue through Waddington over Fell to Newton

Turn right at junction signed Slaidburn

Turn right at ‘Hark to Bounty’ down to Village Green and Hall

Leave M65 at junc 8. Take A6068 signed Clitheroe

Join A59 and follow directions above
